Baglietto relaunches its historic brand through the inclusion of new professional figures that will contribute to make the Italian shipyard even more competitive in the constantly changing superyachts market, where new technologies and sustainable development play an increasingly important role.
The brand will be represented by 3 lines: a more “traditional” displacement line (TLine), and two lines of fast, high-performing, extremely innovative yachts (Fast and Superfast).
The displacement TLine, in steel and aluminium, will include models ranging between 52 m and 65 m in length. The shipyard has already sold the first Baglietto T52 unit, and a second one is currently being built on speculation and expected to be ready for delivery in spring 2023.
The Baglietto T52 is a yacht that draws inspiration from Baglietto’s tradition – preserving its most classical stylistic features – but reinterprets it in a modern, contemporary key.
In particular, this vessel – below 500 GT – is characterised by significant design innovations both forward and aft. The stern has been completely restyled and is now open, with a beach club on 3 different levels.
The large pool can be “hidden” by an original up/down moving flooring system. Inside, the floor-to-ceiling glazing of the salon ensures a constant contact with the sea even when living indoors. Definitely worth a special mention is the sky lounge on the upper deck, which can be opened on 3 sides, leaving the windows completely concealed.
At the bow, a retractable ladder directly connects the sun deck and the upper deck, making the latter a natural extension of the former. The yacht will be equipped with a standard hybrid propulsion system that will allow to choose a more efficient navigation mode, reducing both costs and environmental impact.
When cruising in electrical diesel mode, the T52 will have a range of up to 7,600 nm, and will be able to remain at anchor up to 10 hours relying on the batteries only. Her two MTU 16V2000M86 engines, however, will also allow her to reach quite an impressive maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 3,600 nm in traditional navigation mode.
Whether you’re looking for something glamourous, adventurous, wellness-focused, or just plain fun, there is a superyacht vacation that is right for everyone; it’s all within easy reach. Let us walk you through the need-to-know details of finding the best superyacht for you.
Choose your destination
Before you can choose a superyacht, where would you like to go and when? Are you thinking water sports and snorkelling in Greece, or exploring UNESCO World Heritage sites along Croatia in the Adriatic Sea? Different yachts are based in different locations and usually move throughout the year. The most common destination is the Mediterranean in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter. However, you will also find superyachts cruising the waters in the Maldives, the Carribean and around the world.

How many guests will be onboard?
Once you know where you’re headed, it’s time to determine how many people will you be traveling with. Most charter can host 10-12 guests plus crew. Many yachts have cabins designed for kids bunking together with either twin beds or actual bunk beds , or they may feature a Pullman bed in addition to the regular berth if you want to sleep three people together. Don’t forget to include in your count any personal assistants, babysitters, or other security guards..
What type of superyacht ?
Do you want a quiet, smooth sail with maybe not as much deck space but the quintessential romance of the sea? Or do you want to go fast while sipping a cocktail in your on-deck Jacuzzi? Everyone has something in mind when they picture their yacht. Does your image have sails or engines? Does it have more intimate spaces or room for all 12 guests to spread out? These details will allow the superyacht experts at BlackOrange to narrow down the list of superyachts according to your preferences in terms of style, comfort an layout.

When to Book ?
So now you have destination, number of guests, and type of yacht, how far in advance do you need to book?
Keep in mind that, like any other vacation, chartering over the summer holidays, spring break, and other events such as the Monaco Grand Prix or the Cannes Film Festival makes for the high-demand season. If the timing and the yacht are both important, book a year in advance. If you are flexible with both dates and the superyacht, we will do our best to find a superyacht that matches your criteria.
How much does it cost ?
How long do you intend to charter? Do you want two weeks: one week for friends and one week for family? Or will one week on board be perfect?
Superyachts usually list pricing per week and can range from a few tens of thousands up to millions. Providing all the above information will allow the BlackOrange charter team to list for you a selection of superyachts within your budget.
In addition to the charter fees, you will have to add the Advance Provision Allowance to cover the expenses fuel, port charges, food & beverage which are usually around 30% of the charter fee. The APA is an estimation of your expenses based on your preferences, if the whole allowance is not used, it will be returned at the end of the charter.
Finally, based on your itinerary and location, you might be subject to VAT which ranges from 12 to 22% in the Mediterranean for example. Blackorange charter team will provide a detailed quotation summarising all the fees, expenses and taxes.
The personal touch
Do you want to stop in all the ports for shopping the local artisan goods, sightseeing ore even taking a cooking class? Or would you rather stay in one cove and dive and fish all day? Costume party? Beach party? Wine tasting? Paddle-board race? The choice is completely yours, but you do need to give the crew a heads-up so they know what to be prepared for and proceed with bookings.
At Blackorange, we excel in providing a personal touch. BlackOrange will go over all of the options with you and can steer you toward crews that may be better with families, or know how to throw the best beach bash or costume party, or the chef who specializes in your favorite food.
The Blackorange charter team will enquire about your preferences, such as special dietary needs, favourite foods, drinks to have on hand, what you like to snack on, and so on. It is also the time to nail down some of the activities you all would like to take part in.
Do you want to be on the move, exploring each little town along the coast, do yoga on a stand-up paddleboard, or water-skiing behind a jet tender, or maybe traveling in a sub to the depths of the ocean looking for signs of life? Depending on the destination and time of year, different superyachts may offer different amenities. Blackorange charter team will make sure the crew is aware of your preferences and activities

Solaris, one of the largest superyachts to launch in 2021, has hit the water for the first time.
The 145 metre superyacht currently in the German yard Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven. She is promising to be amongst the largest superyachts in the world. Very little information has been released so far, as projects of this calibre are often under strict privacy agreements, understandably. However, we know that the yacht has eight decks, as well as a helicopter pad and a spacious beach club aft.
Project Solaris will boast a displacement hull with a bulbous bow, with the hull built-in steel and the superstructure also constructed in steel. There will be numerous and very vast teaks decks, offering unprecedented areas for the owner and guests to fully enjoy their time onboard, with huge socialising areas, saloons, a number of dining options and features such as swimming pool, Jacuzzi, gym, spa, amazing beach club or a helicopter deck are expected.
The yacht will most certainly feature the latest in technology on board with the most innovative features and materials used, in addition to the highest quality of construction executed with the most precise attention to detail.
Solaris can accommodate up to thirty-six passengers and a crew of sixty. The explorer vessel has become the eighth vessel in Roman Abramovich’s fleet. According to some sources she’ll cost £430 million to build.
The yacht is due to be delivered in Spring or early Summer of 2021.
Lloyd Werft is located on a site covering more than 260,000 square metres in Bremerhaven’s Überseehafen on the German North Sea coast. Three large dry and floating docks, as well as high-performance workshops and logistics sectors, make it possible to build and convert ships more than 300m in length and with a draw up to 11m.

An explosion of brokerage activity in late 2020 resulted in December becoming the second strongest single month for brokerage sales since 2009. The brief easing of coronavirus restrictions seen in the latter half of 2020 gave people a chance to inspect superyachts, spurring activity.
Greg Gheraia director of BLACKORANGE SuperYacht Experts says that the lockdowns “really made us think about life and spending more time with loved ones. If you were thinking about buying a super yacht before the pandemic then in 2020 you were buying a superyacht.” Most clients were simply looking for some freedom after various lockdowns. Having more time on their hands was also a contributing factor to the sales surge.
The month of December racked up a total of 57 sales, eclipsing the 42 recorded in December 2019 and the 38 recorded in 2018. In fact, figures show that the second half of 2020 was the best six months for brokerage sales since 2009, while the fourth quarter of the year was also the best on record*.
As a matter of fact, BLACKORANGE made the last sale of the year with the 31.57 metre Arcadia motor yacht RJ and currently BlackOrange has under sales contract for a 40m as well as a 50m and a build project for a 60m which is close to completion.
Arcadia motor yacht RJ sold by BlackOrange
The fact that more brokerage yachts were sold in 2020 compared to 2019 is remarkable given the weakness of the market at start of the pandemic. In March, April and May 2020, just 62 yachts changed hands, well down on 2019’s figure of 112 and 2018’s 129. However, the market roared back in the second half to set new records for yacht sales.
The strong sales performance has continued into 2021, and Greg Gheraia is optimistic the run will continue. “I think we’re going to see a similar story as we move into this year” he says, “the amount of enquiries and transactions is encouraging”.
Amid ever-changing state orders, social-distancing guidelines, and the new normal, it is clear that there will be lasting impacts to the way we previously carried out our daily lives. This new reality also applies to how we vacation, relax, and blow off steam.
Superyacht charters have also grown in popularity. “The chartering is mostly households and families” Greg Gheraia says. “they are extremely busy and all of charter superyachts are booking out well in advance.”
We are delighted to announce the sale of the 31.57 metre Arcadia motor yacht RJ by the buyer introduced by Blackorange Yachts.
Built in GRP by Italian yard Arcadia Yachts, RJ was delivered in 2018 as the first of the Arcadia 105 series and went on to scoop a top award at the 2019 World Superyacht Awards.
Accommodation is for eight guests in four cabins comprising a master suite, two VIP suites and a twin cabin. All guest cabins have entertainment centres and en suite bathroom facilities while the crew quarters sleep six staff aboard this yacht.
Forward, there is an observation lounge that once again provides panoramic views forward over the yacht’s bows and through the glazed bulwarks, while the glass deckhead, overlaid by solar panels, adds both light and power.
Her top speed is 17 knots and her power comes from two 1,000hp MAN V8-1000 diesel engines.
